Annamarie Donovan, Esq. is admitted to the following: New York State Bar; U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York; U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York. Ms. Donovan is also admitted to the Arizona Bar in the State of Arizona and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona organization. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, serving on various committees relating to her expertise. In May, 2008, she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Suffolk County Bar Association and served a three-year term as a Director. Ms. Donovan presently is serving a three-year term on the SCBA Nominating Committee. She presently also serves as a Member of the SCBA Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, which assists veterans in Suffolk County pertaining to their rights under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act and other matters. Her areas of concentration are Estate Planning; Personal Injury & Negligence; Wrongful Death; Probate/Estate Administration; Residential Real Estate; Veterans Benefits; Business Law; and, Civil Litigation.
Ms. Donovan was formerly an Adjunct Professor at Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, New York where she taught law-related courses in the Political Science Department from 2000 - 2013, most notably, Gender Issues in the Law and Business Law. She has been a Guest Lecturer at The Oxford Round Table, Oxford University, Oxford, England, March, 2004 and March, 2005 on Women's Rights and Gender Equity; and, in April, 2007 on Women's Rights and Freedoms. Ms. Donovan was again invited as a Guest Lecturer in August, 2008 and participated in the session on Women's Leadership in Politics and the Professions, and in March, 2010, she participated in the Oxford Round Table session on Women at Work: Benefits and Barriers. In March, 2012, Ms. Donovan attended the Oxford Round Table session on Gender Equality and Employment: A Legal Perspective and presented a legal perspective on U. S. Gender Equality and Employment.
Ms. Donovan is a frequent contributing writer to various publications, including The Suffolk Lawyer. Her column, "Legally Speaking", can be found in The Community Journal, a publication on the North Fork of Long Island.
In September, 2010, and again in March, 2011 and 2012, Ms. Donovan was named to the list of "Long Island's 2010, 2011 and 2012 Top Legal Eagles: The Top Rated Attorneys in Nassau and Suffolk Counties", for Personal Injury and Estate Planning, respectively. The list of attorneys was published in the magazine, Long Island Pulse, and was compiled from Martindale-Hubbell, the authoritative resource for information on the worldwide legal profession.
Annamarie Donovan earned her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Touro Law School. Ms. Donovan received her undergraduate degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook, earning her B.A., Magna Cum Laude, in Political Science. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
